Thankfully the only that is off about off-season weddings is the event itself! Now one would think that an off-season wedding doesn’t require too much planning since everything, right from the venue to caterers, is up for takes but that isn’t the case. In fact, an off-season wedding requires as much if not more preparation. The only good is that you’ll find yourself making fewer changes to your plans.
So here are a few things that cannot be overlooked simply because yours is an off-season wedding. Be a little weather wary for even if you’re not going to miss the wedding season you don’t want your guests to be freezing, dripping or sweating!
Another thing about timing is to plan the event for a Sunday or Friday so that even though you don’t have the ideal day, you at least have guests who either are getting in or out of their weekend moods! One huge disappointment about off-season weddings is when your favourite things such as flowers are off-season too. So the only thing to do if in such a situation is to know your other favourites or go plastic! Yet another consideration is to book your photographer in as much advance as you would otherwise. A couple who left this detail to the last minute had to make do with a cousin as their official wedding photographer as on the day of the wedding the professionals were out covering a major political event! Of course there’s much more to planning an off-season wedding, but this should do for starters.
