This year is the year for adding a personal touch to everything that you do. Whether organising a party, or even arranging your wedding by yourself, this is a time to let your own influence creep into everything. This year, get going with a DIY (do it yourself) wedding and enjoy every minute of the planning and preparation.
There is help that you will get from professionals and magazines, but try and ensure that you let shades of your personality and taste reflect in everything. Start with simple things like your own vows, your own thoughts incorporated into the wedding invites and some special touches. You can have special photographs of yourselves places on the tables for seating. You can choose your own favourite music (maybe you could sing a little with the band too!). This is just the perfect time to be involved with everything that is going on. You will find new ways to enjoy your wedding and plan for it, and also that you are saving valuable amounts that you can splurge on yourself later!
When you think of a DIY wedding, include something which is typical of you both. It could be in the theme, like a boat theme or a sport for instance. Also look for foods which are characteristic of you. Ensure that you have ideas and little bits of you everywhere. Your friends and family who know you enough will really be warmed by the little personal bits you have thrown in for good measure. And no matter how simple your wedding turns out, you will find that the memories are warm enough to keep you glowing forever.
